Scientific Copy Editor / PowerPoint Editor

Are you a meticulous sub-editor, copy editor or production editor with excellent PowerPoint skills and a background in STM publishing or communications? Do you have fastidious attention to detail? Are you passionate about producing perfect slide presentations? If so we have the ideal role for you. 

Alongside our partner agency Remedica, we work with some of the world's largest pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies to develop creative solutions that inspire change, influence clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.

If you love working with medical writers and editors to help produce high-quality scientific content that is beautifully written, factually accurate, and visually appealing, then this is the role for you. You will join our thriving editorial team and work closely with content leads to produce perfectly sub-/copy-edited and formatted content, mainly in PowerPoint. Slides are a major part of our output and you will play a critical role in helping our scientific slides look the part.

This position would suit an experienced medical or STM copy editor who is comfortable with highly scientific material and has strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in PowerPoint. Perhaps you work for a medical website or publication and would like to move into the dynamic world of medical communications. Maybe you already have med comms experience and are looking for your next challenge. Or you are working freelance and you would like to go in-house. If so we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities include:

  • Copy editing scientific content, predominantly in PowerPoint
  • Formatting slides to a high standard of consistency and precision
  • Fact-checking and referencing with the creation of accurately marked-up reference packs
  • Working with designers and our creative team to create user-friendly, attractive slide templates
  • Creating figures and tables in PowerPoint if required, with input from the design team
  • Creating and curating style sheets / style guides across our various projects
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the content, account management and creative teams to ensure that timelines and budgets are met for assigned projects


  • Significant medical or STM sub-editing / copy editing experience, ideally in a medical communications setting
  • Exceptional PowerPoint skills
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a life sciences subject
  • Understanding of scientific content essential
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
